Southern Spirit Gallery is owned and operated by Zelda Nichols and Toby Hagmaier. Starting out as neighbors, it was soon apparent that there were many shared interests and a deep friendship quickly developed. One of those interests is an enjoyment of fine crafts and art as well as an admiration of all the South has to offer. Along with an appreciation of Southern arts, there is also a love of Denton and the Piedmont. Out of these loves, the idea of a gallery was born.

The decision to join forces and open a gallery in Denton, NC was easy. Southern Spirit Gallery occupies the newly renovated Martin Building situated next to the Denton Post Office. Here we display and sell fine art pieces and hand crafted items ranging from pottery to wearable textiles. We have traveled to many parts of North Carolina to choose the unusual and the beautiful. Many of our artisans and the exclusive pieces they create have a story of their own which makes them very special indeed.

We celebrate not only the extraordinary talent, but also the passion and sacrifice of the artist. We are pleased to be able to introduce local talent as well as more well known artists, so come visit us at Southern Spirit Gallery - we are open six days a week for your convenience.
